    How to Create an Email List in Gmail? A Step-by-Step Guide

    Whether it be a small-scale business or a large organization, an email list is a useful asset to a business. It helps you stay in touch with your clients or customers as well as for any internal correspondence. You can create multiple email lists depending upon your requirement. This can also be done for free using Gmail for that purpose.

    In order to know how to create an email list in Gmail in the simplest possible way, you can follow some basic steps to create a perfect one:

    • Sign in (if you already have an account) or signup for the Gmail account.
    • Move your cursor to the top right side and hover it over “Google apps”, then click.
    • A dropdown menu will appear. Find ‘contacts’ and left-click on it. Clicking on the ‘contacts’ section will open all your contacts in a new window. Here you will find your contact list on the right and a menu on the left.
    • In the menu, find and click the “labels” drop down.
    • A small box will appear in front of you to give a custom name to your label. This will be the name of your email list. Think of an appropriate name for the label and write it. Then click ‘OK’ and your new email list will be saved.
    • Once you name a label, it will automatically appear in the labels drop-down.
    • To add a contact to your label or email list, hover your mouse cursor to the person’s name and select or check the empty box that will appear on the left side of the contact name. Then click on ‘manage’ the label and add the contact to your email list or label.
    • Similarly, select all the other contacts and add them to your desired email list in the same way.

    Now that you have created an email list, you just need to start broadcasting emails. Following are some basic steps to sending an email to your complete email list at once.

    • On the Gmail inbox, click ‘+ Compose’ located at the top-left corner of the page.
    • After that, hover your cursor to the top-right corner and click on ‘BCC’. This will expand the ‘To’ field at the top of the message. It is important to do so as it will protect the privacy and hide the details of the members of the email list from one another. So, just type the name of your label in the ‘BCC’ section so that the message is sent to all the members of the list.
    • After that, just write or compose your email. Attach any file, if relevant, and click the blue-colored “Send Button”.
